The museum collection is partially accessible due to reinstallation following the museum's renovation work. Part of the museum collection is displayed in the first exhibition room (where the entrance and reception area are located); the other rooms are temporarily closed.

Getting here

The Tasso and Postal History Museum is located in the medieval village of Cornello dei Tasso, in the municipality of Camerata Cornello in the province of Bergamo.

The village of Cornello dei Tasso can only be accessed on foot by two comfortable paths.

 

Here's how to reach us:

BY CAR FROM THE A4 HIGHWAY

If you use Google Maps, set your destination: Parking, via Cornello Camerata Cornello, Bg and follow the path that leads to the Tasso and Postal History Museum (via Cornello, 22 Camerata Cornello, Bg).

On Google Maps there are also other car parks near the village, indicated as: "Parcheggio vicino alla pista ciclabile", "Parcheggio via Orbrembo", "Parcheggio via Orbrembo 2", Parcheggio in via Roma". These car parks are located in the lower part of the hamlet, the indications to follow to find the path that leads to the hamlet of Cornello are: "Museo dei Tasso e della Sotira postale", "Cornello dei Tasso" and "via Mercatorum".

 

If you don't use Google Maps:

- Take the A4 Milan-Venice motorway.

- After exiting at Bergamo or Dalmine, follow the signs for Valle Brembana (SS 470) and San Pellegrino Terme.

- After passing the municipalities of San Pellegrino Terme and San Giovanni Bianco, before entering the tunnel at the exit from the municipality of San Giovanni Bianco, turn right towards Camerata Cornello and follow the old state road along the Brembo river. Follow the signs for Cornello dei Tasso and the Museo dei Tasso and Postal History.

- To access the village there are two possibilities:

1. take the marked path to the left of the road that flanks the Brembo river (SP29bis), leaving the car in the adjacent car park.

2. follow the signs for the town of Camerata Cornello (via Roma) and after three hairpin bends take the road on the left to Cornello, follow it to the car park and continue on foot.

 

WITH PUBLIC TRANSPORT

From Milan: trains depart every hour from the Milano Centrale and Milano Porta Garibaldi stations to Bergamo. Once you arrive at the terminus, take the ARRIVA bus line, piazzale Guglielmo Marconi 4, destination Piazza Brembana. The bus stop is Camerata Cornello, via Orbrembo. Once you leave the bus, take the provincial road (SP29bis) heading south to the bus roundabout, from there take the path to Cornello dei Tasso.

 

WITH PRIVATE BUS

If you are in a group (schools or private group) we remind you that it is possible to get to Camerata Cornello using your hired tourist coach.
The only parking area, for large buses, is located in via Orbrembo where there is the bus stop. Once you leave the bus, take the provincial road (SP29bis) heading south to the bus roundabout, from there take the path to Cornello dei Tasso.

 

ON FOOT THROUGH "VIA MERCATORUM"

Another possibility to reach Cornello and the museum is to walk along a stretch of the historic "via Mercatorum" which leads from the town of San Giovanni Bianco to Cornello. In this case, you can leave the car or the tourist bus in San Giovanni Bianco at Piazzale degli Alpini, from there continue on foot following the signs for the Valle Brembana cycle path, northbound, and then "Via Mercatorum - Oneta di San Giovanni Bianco ". If you travel by public transport, the bus stop is "San Giovanni Bianco Centro", from the stop follow the signs for the Valle Brembana cycle path, northbound, and then "via Mercatorum".

In the small village of Oneta (fraction of San Giovanni Bianco) you will find the Arlecchino House Museum and then continue along the Via Mercatorum that leads to Cornello.
